(Waffen-SS Einheitsmütze M43 für Männer der Panzertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Dachau-style Waffen-SS Panzer M43 cap, constructed of black wool. It is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels are rolled up and secured in place with two black bakelite buttons emanating from the right flap and meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. Completing the exterior features is a protruding card stock-reinforced visor, lined in identical black wool on the obverse and presenting exposed in a classic Dachau-style on the reverse. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece black rayon liner, and is unmarked with the exception of a white size mark of “56” on the crown. It measures approximately 205 mm (w) x 250 mm (l) x 130 mm (h). The outline of a trapezoidal insignia which has since been removed is visible to the peak, but the cap otherwise demonstrates no issues and is in an extremely fine condition.
