(Ordem Nacional do Cruzeiro do Sul). Instituted in 1932. Multi-piece construction, in silver gilt with light green, dark green, light blue, dark blue and white enamels, measuring 61.5 mm (w) x 85 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath suspension, the obverse centrepiece has been repositioned causing the stars formation to have been rotated clockwise by ninety degrees, chipping evident in the white enamels on the arm at 7 o'clock on the obverse, residue present on its original full-length neck ribbon, very fine.

 

Footnote: The National Order of the Southern Cross was originally established as the Imperial Order of the Southern Cross on December 1, 1832. The National Order of the Southern Cross was instituted on January 13, 1932 and is awarded to foreigners for diplomatic, military or other services to Brazil, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight, the Collar being added in 1939.
