Hardcover, beige cloth cover, with sketches of soldiers wearing helmets on the front and back covers, entitled "SS-Steel - Parade and Combat Helmets of Germany's Third Reich Elite", by Kelly Hicks, copyrighted by the author in 2004, First Printing in 2004, published by R. James Bender Publishing of San Jose, California, printed in the Republic of Korea, ISBN 0-912138-96-3. The signature of the author of the book, Kelly Hicks, appears in black ink on page 4, as does the tagline: "The first 500 copies of the First Edition are serial numbered. This collector's volume in no. 210", with the "210" added in handwritten black ink. It begins with a Table of Contents, followed by a Foreword by Al Barrows, an Acknowledgements and an Introduction by Kelly Hicks. The book is divided into three Sections: Section 1: Decals (The Known SS Decals; General Decal Characteristics); Section 2: Transitional SS Helmets (Combat Shell "Transitionals"; Commercially-Produced "Transitionals"; M-34 Lightweight Civic Style Helmets; M-34 "Medium Duty" SS-VT or SD Helmets; The SS-RZM Helmet); Section 3: The M-35 Series and Wartime SS Helmets (Eisenhüttenwerk Thale/Harz "E.T."; F.W. The book contains 240 pages of detailed text, along with numerous black and white and colour photographs, both period and modern, printed in four-colour inks, on a coated white paper stock, measuring 158 mm (w) x 235 mm (h) x 24 mm (d). It exhibits a nip and repair at the front edge of the spine where it meets the front cover, wear along the bottom edge on the back cover, and a fold mark at the lower right corner on page 1-2, however, the remaining pages within continue to be pristine. Better than very fine.
