Germany, Heer. An EM/NCO’s Belt Buckle

(Heer Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of grey-painted magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, set within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD IS WITH US”) and oak leaf branches, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, marked with a manufacture date of “43” circumscribed by an illegible maker’s mark, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with oxidation and loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
