Ordin "Corona Romaniei". Instituted in 1881. Type II (1932-1947). In bronze gilt with red, green and blue enamels, cypher of Carol I on the obverse centrepiece, measuring 41 mm (w) x 63.8 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, intact enamels, original ribbon with hook and eye, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Crown of Romania is a chivalric order estbalished on March 14, 1881 by King Carol I of Romania, to commemorate the establishment of the Kingdom of Romania. It was awarded as a state order until the end of the Romanian monarchy in 1947 and was revived on December 30, 2011 as a dynastic order. The order had five classes: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
