The badge is a service badge for a civilian employee of the Heeres-Abnahme. It is maker marked “Tweer & Turck, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse. The dog tag was also worn by a member of the Heeres-Abnahme. It says H. Abn. Jnsp. (Heeres-Abnahme Inspektor) Südost Wien (Southeast, Vienna) 461.

Footnote: The Heeresabnahmestelle (Army Acceptance Organisation) was a subsidiary of the Heereswaffenamt (Army Weapons Agency) tasked with arming the Wehrmacht and testing weapons, ammunition, and equipment. In mid 1944, ca. 8,000 of the 25,000 Abnahme inspectors were transferred to the front for service, which explains the use of an inspector dog tag.
