A postwar signed portrait depicting SS-Sturmbannführer Herbert Schulze, in uniform and with the Knight’s Cross clearly visible, the lower left side of the image overlaid by Schulze’s handwritten signature in blue ink, otherwise unmarked, measuring 105 mm (w) x 148 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: SS-Sturmbannführer Herbert Schulze received the Knight’s Cross on 16 December 1943 for halting a Red Army assault in the vicinity of Kiev, when, leading a company of less than 40 men, he secured a front of six kilometers and captured dozens of Soviet vehicles in the process of repelling multiple assaults.
