Item #G46566

$221
(Reichspost Schiffchen). A well-preserved and converted Reichspost Enlisted Personnel overseas cap, constructed of heavy black wool. The cap is fully surrounded by two-piece side panels, with the primary paneling at the side and rear folding down to provide option neck and ear protection for the wearer. When not in use, the latter folds up and bears dual magnetic metal hooks, in turn meeting reinforced magnetic metal eyelets flanking both sides of the crown, fastening it securely in place. The left side of the cap bears a Reichspost insignia consisting of a dark blue trapezoidal cotton backer overlaid by a machine-embroidered silver-grey Reichspost eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The interior features a complete black cotton twill liner and presents plain. Unmarked, the cap measures 290 mm (l) x 115 mm (h). A small hole is visible on the interior liner which has not penetrated to the exterior wool, and the cap is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
