Born on 16 July 1924 in Wasserleben, Saxony, Schlüter served with the 22nd SS Volunteer Cavalry Division Maria Theresia. His last known whereabouts were in Budapest between 11 and 12 January 1945, with the last confirmed communication from him being received on 5 December 1944. The request for information was filed by his father, Wilhelm, as a resident of Bündheim. It features a black-and-white photo of Schlüter in a Waffen-SS tropical uniform.
