(Treuedienst-Ehrenzeichen Sonderstufe für 50 Jahre, mit Etui und Brief). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of gilded and silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms and with a circular oak leaf wreath joining the quadrants, the obverse bearing a central black swastika, with the 12 o’clock arm bearing a raised number “12”, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 41.34 mm (w) x 46.09 mm (h), weighing 22.2 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame with a faux red leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt wreathed number “50”, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted maroon felt medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, the lid liner maker marked “DESCHLER & SOHN, MÜNCHEN”, measuring 48 mm (w) x 102 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; accompanied by a Feldpost letter, addressed to Paul Jähne and dated December 1941, indicating that a relative named Ernst Jähne has received the accompanying decoration in recognition of 50 years of service to the firm of Gustav Paul, measuring 210 mm (w) x 298 mm (h), retaining a Feldpost envelope posted on 8 January 1942, measuring 162 mm (w) x 115 mm (h), with a small tear evident to the upper right corner of the letter, in near extremely fine condition.
