Germany, Wehrmacht. A Feldgendarmerie Gorget

(Ringkragen für Feldgendarmerie). A Wehrmacht Feldgendarmerie gorget, constructed of a silvered zink alloy reinforced with a partial magnetic metal core, the obverse bearing a central raised Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above a pebbled banner bearing a raised inscription of “FELDGENDARMERIE”, flanked on each side by pebbled buttons, with all of the obverse fixtures constructed of zink and coated in phosphor for glow-in-the-dark functionality, the reverse retaining a fully-intact field-grey wool liner, with a central downward-pointing clip for tunic attachment, as well as an additional hook at the top left meeting an aluminum chain secured to an integral loop at the upper right corner, unmarked, measuring 165 mm (w) x 115 mm (h), with moderate oxidation and loss of phosphor to the coated features and some scratching evident throughout, an uncommon gorget in overall very fine condition.
