Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by E. Ferdinand Wiemann

(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse maker marked with the logo of E. Ferdinand Wiedmann, Frankfurt, with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, measuring 41.62 mm (w) x 60.27 mm (h), weighing 27.3 grams, with total loss of bronze finish evident throughout, in very fine condition.
