Germany, Wehrmacht. A Panzer Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, by Karl Wurster

(Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Karl Wurster, Markneukirchen, measuring 40.94 mm (w) x 60.18 mm (h), weighing 35.4 grams, with moderate loss of bronze finish throughout, in better than very fine condition.
