Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge

(Flak-Kampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the right edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of the so-called “lizard head” variant produced by an unknown manufacturer, measuring 46.07 mm (w) x 67.28 mm (h), weighing 39.5 grams, with moderate loss of finish evident, in near extremely fine condition.
