Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge

(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 41.94 mm (w) x 53.22 mm (h), weighing 30.6 grams, with oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in fair condition.
