Constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central Olympic column overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, topped by Olympics rings, and flanked by a date of “1936”, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTVOLLE MITARBEIT BEI DEN OLYMPISCHEN SPIELEN 1936” (“FOR MERITORIOUS ASSISTANCE TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF 1936”), unmarked, measuring 37.02 mm in diameter, weighing 18.2 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a heavy card stock frame with a faux white leather exterior liner, the lid bearing gilt Olympic rings, the interior with a grey rayon lid liner and depressed grey velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 65 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), with loss of finish and extensive soiling evident to the medal and exterior of the case, respectively, in overall very fine condition.
