Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with white enameled arms bearing stylized red flames, overlaid by a central white enameled disc bearing a black mobile swastika, with the arms of the cross joined through the quadrants by a circular ring bearing an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST IM FEUER-LÖSCHWESEN” (“FOR MERIT IN FIRE-FIGHTING”), unmarked, measuring 43.34 mm (w) x 47.25 mm (h), weighing 17.2 grams, accompanied by a ribbon bar measuring 35 mm in length, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, in overall extremely fine condition.
