Germany. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, by Sohni Heubach & Co.

(Infantrie-Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bow-tie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical round wire pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a round wire catch; maker marked “S.H. u. Co. 41” on the reverse, and displaying all of its typical manufacturing characteristics; measuring 47.13 mm (w) x 61.43 mm (h); weighing 28.7 grams; with all of its silver finish worn off, but with enough remaining to positively identify this badge as a silver grade infantry assault badge; in overall near very fine condition.
