Germany, Wehrmacht. A Wound Badge, Silver Grade, by Klein & Quenzer

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm bearing a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “65” for Klein & Quenzer, Idar-Oberstein, measuring 36.90 mm (w) x 44.24 mm (h), weighing 21.8 grams, with moderate loss of silver finish evident, in near extremely fine condition.
