Germany, Luftwaffe. A 1st Fallschirm-Panzer Division Hermann Göring EM/NCO’s Overseas Cap

(Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 1. Hermann Göring Schiffchen). A 1st Fallschirm-Panzer Division Hermann Göring EM/NCO’s overseas cap, constructed of a black herringbone cotton twill. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, gently scalloped toward the front. Stitched onto the peak of the cap is an insignia consisting of a black wool backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 56 mm (w) x 38 mm (h). The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece black cotton liner. Unmarked, the cap measures approximately 275 mm (l) x 125 mm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Issues consistent with age and wear are evident, and include extensive exterior soiling with minor material fatigue and partial detachment of the eagle insignia, along with consistent soiling of the interior liner. The cap is in an overall fair condition.
