Germany, Luftwaffe. A Squadron Clasp for Long Distance Figthers, Gold Grade, with 400 Hanger

(Frontflugspange in Gold für Ferntjäger). Consisting of a laurel wreath with nine oak leaves on either side, constructed of gilded zink; the obverse with a central downward-pointing winged arrow and a static swastika at the base of the wreath; with a “400” hanger suspended from the base of the clasp; the reverse plain, with a horizontal pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a flat wire catch; measuring 76.84 mm (w) x 25.65 mm (h); weighing 16.3 grams; with all of its original finish worn off, except for the finish on the hardware, which is nearly fully preserved; in overall very fine condition.
