Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Panzer IV rolling over grassy terrain, with its left tread extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the “A inside triangle” logo of an unidentified manufacturer formerly believed to be A.D. Schwerdt or Adolf Scholze, measuring 42.35 mm (w) x 62.84 mm (h), weighing 24.7 grams, an exceptionally well-preserved example in near mint condition.
