Germany, Wehrmacht. A 1939 Iron Cross II Class, Lug Version, by C.E. Juncker

(Eisernes Kreuz 1939 II. Klasse). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of non-magnetic metal and silver, on a loop emanating from a lug for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened non-magnetic metal core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 43.96 mm (w) x 49.00 mm (h), weighing 17.4 grams, accompanied by an unmarked but period original paper wrapper, measuring 70 mm (w) x 92 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
