(Reichsfeuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen II. Klasse). Instituted 22 June 1936 by Wilhelm Frick. (1936-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension, the obverse with white enameled arms overlaid by stylized red enameled flames, with a central white enameled disk bearing a black mobile swastika, the arms joined by a banner bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE IM FEUER-LÖSCHWESEN” (“FOR MERIT IN FIREFIGHTING”), unmarked, measuring 43.28 mm (w) x 47.72 mm (h), weighing 16.5 grams, some flecking of enamels and loss of silver finish evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
