Germany, Wehrmacht. An Eastern People’s Decoration, I Class in Silver with Swords

(Tapferkeits- und Verdienstauszeichnung für Angehörige der Ostvölker, I. Klasse in Silber mit Schwertern). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, bearing a central wreathed rosette pierced through the centre by crossed swords, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 49.25 mm (w) x 49.11 mm (h), weighing 21.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
