(Heer Schiffchen für Männer der Panzertruppe). An extremely well-preserved Heer Panzer EM/NCO’s M35 overseas cap, constructed of black wool. It is fully surrounded by fold-down side walls with frontal scalloping. The crown is flanked by ventilation holes, each reinforced with black-painted zink grommets. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a black rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 70 mm (w) x 30 mm (h) overall. Directly beneath the eagle, the centre of the side wall retains an additional insignia consisting of a black rayon backer affixed in diamond formation, overlaid by a machine-embroidered tricolour cockade. The former measures 35 mm (w) x 35 mm (h), and is surrounded by a classic rose-pink Panzer personnel soutache. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece grey cotton/rayon-blended liner. The crown is stamped in black ink with a maker’s mark of “WILLY SPRENGPFEIL, HAMBURG”, a manufacture date of “1938”, and a size mark of “56”. It measures approximately 290 mm (l) x 110 mm (h) when folded on a flat surface. The cap demonstrates no flaws or condition issues with the exception of minor interior soiling, and is in an overall near mint condition.
