Germany, HJ. A 1938 Kreis-Level Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Bronze Grade, by Gustav Brehmer

(Ehrenzeichen Kreissieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1938). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, around a central white enameled disc bearing an inscription of “KREISSIEGER 1938” (“DISTRICT VICTOR 1938”), overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel overlaid by an enameled HJ insignia, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “G. BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 49.09 mm (w) x 47.54 mm (h), weighing 31.0 grams, the enamels of the HJ insignia demonstrating minor scratching, in overall near extremely fine condition.
