An extremely well-preserved Social Welfare Decoration, I Class Cross, constructed of fire-gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Geneva Cross with white enameled arms, the obverse with a central applique in the form of a black enameled NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse plain, on loop for suspension from hanger with stylized oak leaves, connecting to a length of shortened neck ribbon, unmarked but bearing the physical characteristics of Gebrüder Godet, Berlin, measuring 52.59 mm (w) x 57.29 mm (h), weighing 40.7 grams, minor flecking and discolouration of enamels, otherwise in near extremely fine condition.
