Croatia, Independent State. A Commemorative Badge of the Croatian Naval Legion, Type II

Constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of an oval linden leaf wreath bearing a raised inscription of “HRVATSKA POMORSKA LEGIJA” (“CROATIAN NAVAL LEGION”), set around a white enameled anchor bearing a date of “1941”, overlaid by a checkered Croatian national emblem, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 35.77 mm (w) x 47.58 mm (h), weighing 8.9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
