Germany, Wehrmacht. A 1939 Clasp to the Iron Cross II Class, Type II

(Wiederholungsspange 1939 zum Eisernen Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse). Instituted 1 September 1939. (1940-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn set on top of a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939”, the reverse with all four attachment prongs, affixed to a period original length of ribbon, unmarked, measuring 30.40 mm (w) x 30.66 mm (h), weighing 7.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
