Constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with “50” clasp adoring the loop, consisting of a double-sided and finely-detailed Hohenzollern imperial eagle clutching a sword and sceptre, with its head surrounded by a halo bearing a raised inscription of “VOM FELS ZUM MEER” (“FROM THE CLIFFS TO THE SEA”), the obverse overlaid by a black and white enameled checkered shield, unmarked, measuring 33.45 mm (w) x 34.54 mm (h), weighing 12.9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
