Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, set above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised number “1939” on a pebbled background, the reverse with two of four attachment prongs intact, unmarked but demonstrating the physical characteristics of a type “B” clasp manufactured by B.H. Mayer, Pforzheim, measuring 31.58 mm (w) x 31.44 mm (h), weighing 8.2 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish in addition to the two absent prongs, in overall very fine condition.
