(Sacro militare ordine costantiniano di San Giorgio). Duchy of Parma. In 18kt Gold, a superb early order of St. George, consisting of red enamelled Flory Cross with the inscription V I H S A ω P across the arms with a P in the center and a superimposed X in the quadrants of the cross, the reverse mirrors the obverse, surmounted by a delicate Gold crown, measures 35.9mm (w) x 59.6mm (h – inclusive of crown suspension and cross adorned horizontally pierced ball), weighs 7.1grams (including ribbon), worn on the order’s blue ribbon, small enamel flake to tip of 12 o’clock arm on obverse and reverse, a decoration of the highest quality and condition, rare and in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Duchy of Parma Order branch features a lowercase omega in the inscription “V I H S A ω P.” The knight of justice features the badge suspended from a royal crown and a military trophy on a sky-blue ribbon, those who were officers for the right of blood presented only the crown suspension.
