In bronze gilt, engraver marked ""P F"" on the obverse, measuring 28.5 mm (w) x 49.2 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, replacement incorrect ribbon, scattered gilt wear, bruised, very fine.

Footnote: The medal was certainly awarded prior to the death of King Leopold II in 1909 and probably dates from the very early years of the Twentieth Century when philanthropic and social organizations intended for mutual support among former NCOs were set up.

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps.
