Germany, Wehrmacht. A 1939 Clasp to the Iron Cross II Class, Prinzen Size

(Wiederholungsspange 1939 zum Eisernen Kreuz II. Klasse 1914). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1940-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, set above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939” on a pebbled background, the reverse with both attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 24.52 mm (w) x 24.46 mm (h), weighing 4.0 grams, with loss of finish evident to the reverse consistent with ribbon wear, in overall extremely fine condition.
