Germany, Heer. A Krim Shield

(Heer Krimschild). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates “1941-1942”, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate with a field-grey wool liner indicating Heer issue, the reverse retaining an original paper liner, the shield measuring 53.08 mm (w) x 61.31 mm (h), with minor oxidation evident to the shield, in overall near extremely fine condition.
