Germany, HJ. An Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne

(HJ Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of a nickel-plated bronze alloy, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching a HJ insignia, within a ribbed ring bearing a raised inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, along with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and code “17” for the same maker, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), the obverse bearing a single spot of wear to the nickel with verdigris from the bronze core showing through, in overall near extremely fine condition.
