(Könglicher Kronen-Order 2. Klasse mit der Jubiläumszahl “50”). Instituted on 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (Issued 1861-1866). A Gold cross pattée with white enameled arms, the obverse with a circular central medallion depicting the Royal Prussian crown, surrounded by a light blue enameled ring, inscribed “Gott Mit Uns" (“God with Us”) in gilt lettering, the reverse with a circular central medallion depicting the royal cipher of King Wilhelm I, surrounded by a light blue enameled ring, inscribed “Den 18 October 1861" (“The 18th of October 1861”), maker mark “H & S” for Humbert & Sohn of Berlin, on flat loop for suspension from period original, blue ribbon, with Jubilee Pendant constructed of Gold, presenting a small chip in the “5” of the number “50,” the cross measures 52.22 mm (w) x 51.92 mm (h), weighs 22.18 grams, an uncleaned original badge showing wear and aging, and is in overall extremely fine condition. Accompanied by an Authentication and Appraisal document by Medalnet Appraisal Services, dated 20 August 2018, signed by both Andreas Schulze Ising and Bernd Kruse.
Footnote: Estimated sixty decorations with the jubilee number “50” were awarded, making this cross a very rare example.
