Germany, Heer. A Set of Infantry Swallow’s Nests

(Heer Schwalbennester). A matching set of Heer Infantry swallow’s nests, each constructed of a white cotton twill base, bearing seven bands of vertical silver aluminum wire tresses, and with an additional silver aluminum wire tresse trimmed the lower edge, the reverse of each embroidered with magnetic metal clips, one nest retaining a dark grey wool reverse liner, both unmarked and measuring 225 mm (w) x 98 mm (h), in addition to the missing backer each nest demonstrates consistent wear and material fatigue, in overall fair condition.
