Germany, HJ. An Enlisted Personnel Belt Buckle, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne

(HJ Gürtelschnalle). Constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching a HJ insignia, within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR”), the reverse with a crank catch and swivel attachment claws, maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo, and maker code of “M4/39” for the same manufacturer, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with moderate oxidation evident, in very fine condition.
