Germany, Third Reich. A Third Reich Veteran Standard Bearer’s Gorget

(Gorget). A half-moon gorget constructed of brightly polished aluminum with a raised perimeter rim, the obverse centre presents a red enamelled shield bearing a black enamelled Iron Cross, surrounded by a gilded upward facing oak leaf wreath, bordered on either side by flags, the reverse presents a black felt backing, marked on the reverse hook with the number 3, the gorget is suspended from an aluminum chain consisting of interconnected links, measuring 16.7 cm (w) x 11 cm (h), and in near very fine condition.
