(St. Georgs-Medaille Jubiläumsmedaille). Instituted 15 December 1889 by Prince Regent Luitpold. (1889 issue). Constructed of gilded silver, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Prince Regent Luitpold, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central raised depiction of St. George slaying a dragon, circumscribed by an inscription of “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DEN 8. DECEMBER 1889” (“IN COMMEMORATION OF DECEMBER 8TH 1889”), the obverse designer marked “A. SCHARFF” for Anton Scharff, measuring 39.20 mm in diameter, weighing 36.4 grams, the medal is missing its ribbon, in worn condition, with very nice old original patina, small contact marks, in very fine condition.
