(Pilotenabzeichen). Two-piece construction, in silvered aluminum and patinated zink; the obverse with an two-piece construction; silvered tombac oval wreath with laurel leaves towards the left side side, and oak leaves towards the right side of the wreath, separated by three small ribbon-like loops on the bottom, with a large patinated eagle with spread-out wings superimposed on the badge, clutching a swastika in its talons; two rivets on the reverse; vertical needle style pinback with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; maker marked by the logo of F. W. Assmann & Söhne on the reverse; measuring 65.85 mm (w) x 53.08 mm (h); weighing 21.5 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
