Germany, DLV. A Visor Cap Insignia, by Wilhelm Deumer

(Deutsches Luftsportverband Mützenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a German Air Sports Association (DLV) insignia in the form of a circular red enameled ring, overlaid by a central silvered and winged propeller, bearing a black enameled mobile swastika, the reverse with both attachment prongs intact, maker marked “WILH. DEUMER, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 70 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), some chipping is visible to the enamels with a particularly large spot to the swastika’s right arm, in addition to consistent loss of silver finish, in overall very fine condition.
