Croatia, Independent State. An Order of the Iron Trefoil, I Class, c.1941

Instituted December 27, 1941. A Croatian trefoil in black iron with thin silver edges, obverse center presenting the Croatian crest in a checkerboard style of red enamel with silver with a superimposed “U” in blue enamel, measuring 51 x 51mm, mounted on a full length of original neck ribbon. Minor imperfections to black lacquer, pilled off in places as is usually case with this Award. In very good/fine condition. Highest Croatian Award during WWII, seldom awarded in this grade and mostly to German Military Commanders.
