In silver, maker marked "R.J." hallmarked with the British lion, marked with a leopard's head (made in London), date marked "u" (1935) and engraved in capitals "F. FEARNHEAD." on the reverse, measuring 27 mm (w) x 40.3 mm (h), very light contact, original ribbon with pinback, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The cape badge was instituted in 1921 upon the formation of the Territorial Army Nursing Service (TANS) and was used until 1950 when the TANS was incorporated in the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC). It was worn on the right breast on ward dress for commissioned (qualified) nurses. It was issued through stores to each individual.
