Constructed of gilded bronze with blue enamels, the obverse consisting of a central mobile swastika flanked by stylized blue enameled wings with feathering highlighted in gilt, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 80.45 mm (w) x 17.48 mm (h), weighing 15.5 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame, the exterior with a faux dark blue leather liner, the lid bearing a gilt inscription of “CIVIL-FLUGZEUGFÜHRERABZEICHEN”, the interior with a padded blue rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted blue felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 112 mm (w) x 49 mm (l) x 28 mm (h), a rare badge in overall extremely fine condition.
