In their hardshelled case of issue, marked "LEGION OF MERIT / CHIEF COMMANDER / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" on the lid, white nylon lining on the inside lid, gray felt medal bed, with white cardboard banding, in its box of issue.

2. Commander Set: in bronze gilt with red, white, blue and green enamels, measuring 57.7 mm (w) x 64.5 mm (h), on its full-length original neck ribbon with triple snaps; 35.5 mm (w) x 10 mm (h) ribbon bar with device and dual push pins; and 18 mm (w) x 7 mm (h) enameled ribbon bar with device and push pin. In their hardshelled case of issue, marked "LEGION OF MERIT / COMMANDER / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" on the lid, white nylon lining on the inside lid, gray felt medal bed, in its box of issue.
