(Orden jugoslovenske zvezde). Instituted in 1954. Neck Badge: multi-piece construction, in silver gilt with red, white and blue enamels, unmarked but of typical Ikom of Zagreb manufacture, measuring 55.5 mm (w) x 61.5 mm (h), on its original full-length neck ribbon; and Breast Star: multi-piece construction, insignia in silver gilt with red and blue enamels, the insignia mounted to a ten-pointed star base, the star designed with multiple pairs of beaded emanating rays, maker marked "IKOM" and marked "900" (silver) on the reverse, measuring 73.5 mm (w) x 74.7 mm (h), vertical pinback. Intact enamels, very light contact, extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of the Yugoslav Star was instituted on February 1, 1954. It was awarded for outstanding cultural, political or scientific achievement, and for service towards peaceful cooperation between nations, in three grades: I Class (Sash Badge and Breast Star), II Class (Neck Badge and Breast Star) and III Class (Neck Badge). The II Class version was awarded to Secretaries of State, Governors and others. This was the ninth highest Yugoslav Order and was seldom awarded.
