Germany, Wehrmacht. A First Type Clasp to the 1939 Iron Cross, I Class

(Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz). Constructed of silvered tombak, presenting as a German national eagle clutching wreathed mobile swastika, above a trapezoid depicting reinstitution date of “1939”, two lower prongs for attachment, two upper prongs missing, unmarked, measuring 30.77 mm (w) x 30.59 mm (h) and weighing 7.0 grams, an uncommon variant in near very fine condition.
